Cedar Lake Dining Hall
An old, traditional Bible conference center needed a new dining hall and meeting center–and office space to boot. It was a challenge to nestle all these uses into the crowded site and not overwhelm the mostly small cabins scattered around the grounds.
We built the structure into the hillside, overlooking the adjacent lake. This kept the building small on the cabin side and created a landmark on the lake side. Though the design was compromised due to budget, the result is pleasing. Especially since this was the first step in realizing the master plan I helped to create for Cedar Lake.
I was responsible for schematic design; colleagues of mine did the construction documents.
